Koru Works, Inc (“Company”, “we”, “us”, “our”) is committed to maintaining robust privacy protections for its users. This Privacy Policy is designed to help you understand how we collect, use and safeguard the information you provide to us, and to assist you in making informed decisions when using our Service.

“Site” refers to the Company’s website, accessed at www.koru.do. “Service” refers to the Company’s services accessed via the Site, in which users can create an account, subscribe to Koru Cloud, and manage their subscription. “You” refers to you, as a user of our Site or our Service.

By accessing our Site or our Service, you accept this Privacy Policy and our Terms of Use (found at www.koru.do/en/terms), and you consent to our collection, storage, use and disclosure of your Personal Information as described here.

I. Information we collect

We collect “Non-Personal Information” and “Personal Information.” Non-Personal Information includes information that cannot be used to personally identify you, such as anonymous usage data, referring/exit pages and URLs, platform types, and preferences you submit. Personal Information includes your email address, name, and billing address, which you submit when registering, subscribing, or contacting us.

1. Information collected via technology. To browse the Site you do not need to submit any Personal Information. When you view or use the Service, we track information provided by your browser, such as the website you came from (the “referring URL”), the type of browser you use, the device you connected from, and the time and date of access. We use Google Tag Manager for this so we can see which pages are read. We do not use advertising cookies, we do not sell that data, and we do not build a profile of you.

We use a small number of functional cookies: a session cookie that keeps you signed in, a security cookie that protects forms from forgery, and your language choice. These do the job they are named for and nothing else; they are not used for advertising.

2. Information you provide when registering. You sign in with Google. Google verifies your identity and tells our account service your verified email address — that address is what your account, your purchases, and our replies are tied to. Our marketing website itself never receives your email address from Google.

3. Information you provide when subscribing. Checkout is handled by Stripe, which collects your email address, name, billing address, and payment method inside Stripe’s own form. We never see or store your card number. Stripe sends you its own receipt; we receive and store your subscription status and billing history so we can show them to you in your dashboard.

4. Children’s privacy. The Site and the Service are not directed to anyone under the age of 13, and the Terms of Use require you to be at least 18. We do not knowingly collect or solicit information from anyone under 13. If we learn that we have gathered personal information from a child under 13 without parental consent, we will delete it as soon as possible. If you believe we have collected such information, contact us at hello@koru.do.

II. How we use and share information

We do not sell, trade, rent, or otherwise share your Personal Information with third parties for their marketing purposes.

We use Personal Information to provide the Service: to sign you in, to keep your subscription and billing history available to you, to answer questions and provide support, and to send transactional email such as purchase confirmations, cancellation confirmations, and service announcements you asked for.

We share Personal Information with vendors who perform services for the Company, and only at our direction: Google (sign-in), Stripe (payments and tax), Fastmail (transactional email), and Vercel (hosting). Each receives only what its job requires.

We may share Personal Information with outside parties if we have a good-faith belief that access, use, preservation or disclosure is reasonably necessary to meet any applicable legal process or enforceable governmental request; to enforce our Terms of Use, including investigation of potential violations; to address fraud, security or technical concerns; or to protect against harm to the rights, property, or safety of our users or the public, as required or permitted by law.

We use Non-Personal Information in aggregate to improve the Service and analyze usage patterns. If we undergo a business transaction such as a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or a portion of our assets, your Personal Information may be among the assets transferred; any acquirer may continue to process it as set forth in this Privacy Policy. If our information practices change in the future, we will post the changes to the Site so that you may opt out.

III. How we protect information

We implement security measures designed to protect your information from unauthorized access, including encryption in transit, access controls, and keeping your payment card data entirely inside Stripe. Your account can only be accessed through Google sign-in — there is no password for us to lose — and you can end a session at any time with the Log out button.

These measures do not guarantee that your information will never be accessed, disclosed, altered, or destroyed by a breach. By using our Service, you acknowledge that you understand and agree to assume these risks.

IV. Your rights regarding your personal information

You can stop promotional communications at any time: every marketing email we send has an unsubscribe link. We may continue to send you administrative email, such as updates to this Privacy Policy or receipts for purchases you make.

You can review and cancel your subscription yourself at any time from your dashboard at www.koru.do/en/dashboard. You can ask us at any time to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you by emailing hello@koru.do — deleting your account information does not entitle you to a refund for time already paid, which the Terms of Use cover.

V. Links to other websites

The Service links to or relies on other websites, including Google for sign-in and Stripe for checkout. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those websites or the information they contain. This Privacy Policy applies solely to information collected by us through the Site and the Service; when you use a third-party site, that site’s privacy policy applies. We encourage you to read the privacy statements of other websites before proceeding to use them.

VI. Changes to our privacy policy

We reserve the right to change this policy and our Terms of Use at any time. We will notify you of significant changes by sending a notice to the primary email address specified in your account or by placing a prominent notice on the Site. Significant changes go into effect 30 days following such notification; non-material changes or clarifications take effect immediately. You should periodically check the Site and this page for updates.

VII. Contact us

If you have any questions regarding this Privacy Policy or the practices of this Site, please contact us at hello@koru.do.
