Koru Fabric
Private context for people and AI
Your context, shared with the people and AI you choose.
Keep useful preferences, project decisions and shared plans in one place. Koru Fabric is being designed to help you reuse that context across compatible AI assistants and share selected parts with family, friends or collaborators.

Keep the information you explain again and again
A new conversation often starts with familiar questions: What are you working on? What do you prefer? What have you already decided?
Fabric's starting point is the context you choose to save: information you can read, update and make available for the next task.
- 01
Save what matters.
Keep preferences, notes and decisions together. The goal is to make it easy to save context yourself or ask a connected assistant to save a specific detail.
- 02
Reuse it with your assistants.
Give a compatible assistant the relevant background without rebuilding a profile in each conversation.
- 03
Share it with your people.
Make selected context available to family, friends or collaborators, with access for each person and assistant.
Useful context for everyday plans and ongoing work
These are some of the ways we're designing Fabric to help.
- 01
Plan a trip together.
Keep the itinerary, travel preferences and decisions in one place. Share them with the people going, and give a planning assistant the details it needs.
- 02
Start the next project conversation with the background.
Share a project brief, previous decisions and working preferences with a collaborator or a new assistant.
- 03
Pick up where you left off learning.
Keep your goals, topics covered and open questions ready for the next study session.
- 04
Get suggestions that fit your preferences.
Share sizes, food preferences or a budget for a particular task so an assistant has better information to work from.
The aim is to reduce repeated explanations while letting you choose what belongs in each conversation.
How Koru Fabric is intended to work
- 01
Save.
Add the information you want to reuse. Review and edit it as your plans and preferences change.
- 02
Choose.
Select the people or compatible assistants that may access particular context.
- 03
Share.
Make the permitted information available for a conversation or shared activity.
- 04
Review.
See what Fabric shared and change or remove access for future requests.
We're building toward assistant connections through Model Context Protocol (MCP), a standard for connecting AI applications to external data and tools. Supported apps and setup instructions will be published as integrations are tested.
Choose what each connection can access
We're designing permissions around selected context and the person or assistant requesting it. Proposed controls for assistant requests include:
Allow requests
Let a particular assistant request context you have already approved, until you change its access.
Example: Your writing preferences for a writing assistant, or a project brief for a project assistant.
Ask before sharing
Review a request before Fabric sends the selected information.
Example: Your address for a booking request, or a personal detail needed for one task.
Keep private
Leave information unavailable to that person or assistant through Fabric.
Example: Private notes, unrelated projects or details you have not chosen to share.
Sharing a budget gives an assistant context. Purchase approvals and other actions need their own controls in the service carrying them out.
Review what Fabric shared
The planned activity view will show which connection requested context, what Fabric shared and when. If a request includes a stated purpose, it will be shown as the requester's explanation.

Removing access prevents future access through Fabric. It cannot erase information a person or external service has already received.
Part of Koru
Fabric is being designed as part of the Koru ecosystem, with the same emphasis on keeping people in control of their information.
Koru Workspace is where you keep and work on your notes and documents. Koru Fabric is focused on the context you want to reuse and selectively share with people and AI.
We're exploring how Fabric will work with your workspace, local storage and optional connected services. We'll explain the supported setup and where information is stored before access opens.
In development
We're building Koru Fabric around three jobs: save useful context, reuse it with compatible assistants, and share selected parts with people you choose.
The page shows the product direction. Availability, supported connections and pricing will be announced as development progresses.
Questions about Koru Fabric
Can I use Koru Fabric today?
Not yet. Koru Fabric is in development. Join the early access list for updates and to hear when testing opens.
Can I share context with family and friends?
That's part of the plan. You should be able to share the information relevant to a trip, household plan or shared project with the people involved, while keeping other context separate.
Which AI assistants will it support?
We're building toward connections through MCP. Compatibility depends on the assistant and the supported connection method. We'll publish the supported assistants and setup instructions as integrations are tested.
How is this different from an assistant's built-in memory?
An assistant's memory helps it carry information between conversations. Fabric's intended role is to give you a place to manage selected context that can also be shared with other compatible assistants and people.
Will my information stay on my device?
Local control is a design goal. Storage and hosting options are still being worked out. When you share context with a person or a cloud-based assistant, the approved information is sent to that recipient or service. We'll document storage, processing and encryption for each supported setup.
What happens when I remove access?
The planned access controls will prevent future access through Fabric. They cannot recall information already received by another person or service.
Will Fabric control what an agent buys or books?
Fabric is focused on the context an agent can access. Giving an agent a budget or preference does not enforce a spending limit or approve a booking. Those actions need separate controls.
Do I need Koru Workspace or a paid account?
The setup, account requirements and pricing are still being decided. We'll explain what is required before inviting people to use Fabric.
